    Jim's

I had a flat the other night and had to stop here to get it fixed. I decided to return later when it was darker. This is a real mom and pop store and the kids do all of the work. What do you think?

    I don't know, Greg.
Is that a soda machine? It does offset the drabness of the rest of the building.
I don't think there is anything technically wrong with the picture.
Sorry but its just not interesting as most of your buildings are.

    Re: Jim's

Greg, I like this find. I do understand what frog is saying about the drab of the scene in general. I think you could select that Dasani water machine and then invert the selection and increase exposure for the rest of the scene. That should help bring out the vibrance.
Also, I'm feeling that cropping some from the bottom, and then off from the left cutting off some of the roofs edge will strengthen the frame.
It's another great find in your Americana series

    Greg

I think my initial thoughts have just been covered and the only other comment is that it looks a little tilted to the right.

I think that it's a great Americana photo. A number of years ago it would have been a 50s diner with a Coke machine. Now it's a 70's repair shop with a water machine. Imagine - selling water. - TF

    Re: Jim's

Here is an edit with the suggested inverse selection and I skewed the roof line slightly.

Good job, Greg. There is a bit more vibrancy to the background scene now.

Yup...second edit works better as more interior detail is showing.

Greg - definitely a great improvement! I really think someone should ask you to do an exhibition in your local library or something. Incidentally, isn't Dasani the product that Coke got slammed for when it was discovered it was just filtered tap water?

    Re: Jim's

Thanks again all for all of your help. Yes Mike I think you are right. It turned out to be something like 25% tap water.
