    Jaws

I don't know what I was thinking at the time. Supposedly over half the buildings at one point were built in New York City with sand from the Port Washington sand pits.

This is an interesting picture, but I'm not quite sure what I'm looking at. I like the various textures and how they interact with each other; it provides visual interest. Is this the only view you have of this subject? Perhaps a different angle/composition might clarify the image somewhat, and let the viewer know what he's looking at.

    Port Washington sand pits

I know Port Washington in Wisconsin, but I've got to assume there is one in NY too? Can't see sending sand all the way from the midwest!

I like your choice of b&w - lots of good textures and the geometry is emphasized. I think the composition is great - lined up well with the bottom wall to frame it horizontally, repetition of the 3 triangles, but not symmetrical - it works. The only thing I might try is a shallower dof, but that might not be better.

Given that this was taken in 1968 means you were, what, around 5 yrs old? :-) We all have images that meant something at the time, the meaning long-forgotten. It does show your mastery of exposure, which you display with every image you post. Nice one.
