    It's a Bugs Life

Well here are my first macros with the Canon A430. Old Timer convinced me to give it a try this morning in his backyard. He was carrying around a couple a thousand dollars worth of Nikon but I think my little Canon came of pretty well. I'd be interested in what you other dudes think.

Rufus, you shoot great variety and seem to meet a lot of people, it's amazing how you get around.

#1 is good overall, only nitpick is I wish there was a bit more light on the bug

#2 is an awesome shot, showing great texture and patterns.

    keep it up.

Well Rufus I must say I am impressed with that A430. You must have practiced some since you left Rome. I hope you can handle the heat in the critique forums, it can get a little hot in here from time to time.
Considering the equipment used I think these are splendid, great colors and the DOF is good. No distracting backgrounds either. Keep this up and there may be a feature in the future.

I think it's safe to say I'm the worst photographer on PR. Even a doll shoots better than I.

I got you on this one for sure, I am the worst.

Anyway Great job Ruffus, I love #1. I do agree about the better lit bug though. My E500 couldn't do any better than that. Lokk foward to seeing you here in Ohio soon Ruff.

That top shot is very very colorful. Almost seems like a painting. Good DOF

Hey thanks for the input dudes. I appreciate it. It's going to be interesting what other photo techniques I can pickup as I travel around the world this year. I'm sure each one of my host will have some special talents that they will pass on to me. Be sure to keep checking out my blog here on PR as I continue to make stops at PR member all over the world.

    Hey Ruffus,

Can't wait for you to visit.

These are neet photos and I cannot believe you found a bug with a refuelling mechanism built into his head
