    Its been a while...

Well, its been ages since I've posted on this site. A mixture of moving, starting a new career, and just always being busy didn't give me much time to pick up the camera. But now that I'm all settled in and with new gear (Canon 40D) I thought I'd fight the Calgary winter and try some night light shots....this is probably my fave of the bunch.

All the best and merry christmas,

    Jared

I love it!!! But I think the closer street lamp is grabbing to much attention. What lens do you use?

Jared, welcome back. and with a brand new 40D no less I think the scene is good. I'm thinking a couple of things here though. One is to have had panned down a bit more to get more of the roadway and bring the lights up more into the night. Second, i think this would be better in color. The color of the cars light and various tones of lighting here might bring that other interesting element that i think this one could use.
Still and yet, a good image
I look forward to more shots of the 40D

    Re: Its been a while...

Thanks for the comments guys. I used a 17-40 L f/ 4.0 lens for it...definitely my favourite lens for landscapes. Gary...I see what you were mentioning regarding getting rid of the negative space on top. The color original was alright...I wasn't a huge fan of it but I'll try to post it back here when I get back home.

    Thanks for the comments.
