Italy 1: Yellow Towel & Umbrella

Hi all ... one of the images from my trip to Italy and a possible, I think, for a club picture.

As always, any comments are very welcome.

    Cheers

I like the viewpoint of the corner of the railing and buildings here Mike but I would like it better if the towel had a better position on the rails and had not been cut off especially as it is part of the main subject. Other than that I think this is a very nice shot.

Lower angle centred, upper angle on right 1/3, right edge of arch on left 1/3, yellow subjects Symmetrical, top of arch on the 1/3 ... a compositional exercise ?

It does need that towel cloned out, good job on that.

Love the shot. Simple, strong comp and great color combinations. Tom suggestion worked well, as well as your cloning skill.
    nicely done.

I am no fan of cloning but that is a good improvement over the original.

I'm also thinking it would use a little less contrast and a bit more saturation (since you are fooling around with the image anyway).

    Nice composition BTW.
    No, I DON'T need that.

Mike your compositional skills are top notch. Everything is always layed out perfectly. It really just boils down to personal taste. I like the cloned version the best but nothing wrong with the first edit. The yellow against the pink and black work well. The only suggestion I would have tried is skewing the image so the corner of the building was level. Nice work Mike....

For what it's worth, I think the cloned version is a vast improvement, but either shot looks great. I can only hope to do so well.

Thanks guys ... I am grateful for Tom's suggestion - it really does improve it I think. I will try printing it up today - I might have to play around with the contrast and saturation a little, but I think it will make a good print.

    Cheers
