Excellent shot. The shutter speed is perfect because you got enough blur to convey motion without making it into a coloured halo. It also imparts a deep/shallow DOF at the same time... the image almost pops out. Great job .

    Polariser,

Thanks for noticing the DOF. I took several shots to get this just right. The motion was a little difficult to capture as the wind was not consistent; the fish tails would spin violently one second then come to nearly a stop the next. Thanks again.

    Re: Into The Wind

Hey CF, this is really good. I really like how the back thingie is spinning and the front one doesn't, makes it seem like an optical trick. I'm not too fond of the background, though there was probably not much you could do about it. Nice find,

    Re: Into The Wind

    GB,

Thanks much, again. Both this and the ONE Image shot were taken at Seaport Village. There isn't much I could do about the back ground. This shop was right on the sidewalk at the harbor. I had to set my tripod partly on the sidewalk and partially over their fence.

    Thanks again.

    Re: Into The Wind

The background in focus really bothers me. Likely a ND filter would have allowed you to keep the exposure but have a shallower DOF.

    Great idea btw.
    No, I DON'T need that.

Awesome photo, as mentioned before, I love how the shutter blur makes the central section pop out
I am mainly here to learn, I'm pretty new at photography so please don't be afraid to say whatever you need to if you're critiquing my photos, and take my composition advice with an extra grain of salt
