    Indoor Stars

    With stairs, or not ?
Cool, or warm white balance ?

I prefer warm white balance and with stairs. I think it gives the added depth it needs.

I like a bit of distortion as well

I would like the full stairs, skewed to straighten and align the symetry and a much warmer balance. An almost golden color would look great.

I'm having a hard time deciding about these, I like the warm better than the cool. The problem I find with the one with the extra stairs is that my eye seems to get stuck in the stairwell. I would try burning the rails that are coming out of the bottom of the frame to maybe lead the eye up to the lights a little better and give the shot a little more contrast.

    Re: Indoor Stars

    One quick addition.
I would also use the top of the door as a straight point, the whole thing does seem a little tilted to the right... do you have one that has the stairs at the bottom and doesn't have to door cut off at the top?
I would think that the ideal crop might be right where the back wall hits the roof, that way You don't cu any of the lights in half and also don't leave too much or too little space above the door.... ok maybe that a little more than one more quick thing.

    Thanks -
I definitely have to correct the distortion from the 7.4mm lens on the G9.
And the perspective, and the tilt.

Then I can experiment with colour balance - warmer suits me, too.
I'm glad you agree with me
