    Imp

This is the first shot I posted taken with my "new" (to me) Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 ASO EX lens! (Which should make next hockey season MUCH easier! )

F/2.8, 1/800s, ISO-100. The EXIF info says the focal length was 456mm! I think it was all the way out at 200. (It seems accurate if you are not at the full 200mm!)

Let me know what you think!

Very pretty! I love the hair blowing in the wind. What hockey will you be shooting next year?

Nice shot. Looks like one of those Glamour magazine peek-over-the-shoulder poses (I think Andy Rooney made a skit on that). I guess if it works it works. Nice blurred background. Could be a tad bit sharper around her nose and eyes. Maybe the DOF could have been set a little deeper.

I think that is the lens that I want to buy myself. Nice sharp pic. If you don't mind my asking, how much did you pay for it?

    Re: Imp

Thanks to all for your comments and suggestions!

Sarah - My son will be on a squirt age (9 & 10 year-old) travel hockey team and my daughter (the Imp) will be doing house league. I expect that the travel parents will appoint me "team photographer" much like my son's baseball coach did. (Not that I mind. I would be taking the pictures anyway!)

GB - Part of the softness might be from re-sizing, but in the original I felt from the start that the back eye (her right) was a bit soft. I suppose I should have used f/4 or 5, but I was testing the new beast and wanted to shoot wide open! As for the pose, she climbed up on a play-structure in our back yard and said "Dad! Take a picture of me like this!" So who was I to deny her majesty!

Ray: I got it VERY used on eBay for $520 with shipping. It is NOT the Di model, but the older EX. I love it! The best investment I have made since I bought my Digital Rebel (also use don eBay...) Now I need to sell off some stuff to pay for it before my wife kills me!
