    Cool, thats what I think
One element of the photo that really helps make the photo is the boat's reflection being so clear, at least for me. Ya kinda think "ah, ok this is a reflection of some people by water" but then i had to wonder if this was some elaborately done photosh...hmm wait...i'm looking at it now.....the boat's reflection line doesn't seem to match other stuff reflection line because of that curve...wow, yeah its kinda a weird kinda coolness thats going on here. I'd like to get a sense of why all these folks are around the water (in particular that black-clothed fellow all by himself--he really stands out) but i'm not sure you could do that shooting into a reflection

    Nice one Seb

Edit: Crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loaded the photo in photoshop to look at it upside down and it does indeed look like a genuine reflection.........someone slap my wrists I've been a naughty boy.

    Sebastien,
As usual, your image has a level of quality and creative flair that has my respect and curiosity to click on a link when I see one of your posts. This maintains that quality and creative flair, but personally the image does not have much impact on me. When I first looked, I thought" what happened here"?but of course knowing it was a reflection (you having said so) I thought " well, this is clever". But somehow, for me, it does not do anything. The cool factor wears off soon and then I'm not interested. Just my honest opinion. I think I would want to see more of the picture, perhaps with some more of the "real" scene in the shot so to more contrast between the reflection and the "reality" I can see this image being liked by lots, but this is just how I feel about it.

Cool Seb.! You've got a bunch of us scratching our heads on this one. Where were you standing/sitting when you took the shot?

I too like reflections. Your rotating it so that our brain wants to interpret it as the original rather than the reflection of reality gives it a great surreal edge and also makes us wander through the image to analyze all the bits. I remember your skyline in a puddle from some time back. I think this is even stronger because of the closeness and clarity of the subjects. Thanks for posting it.

    Gary,

Thanks for taking the time to write. I can totally understand where you're coming from. This shot to me is just another step in my current desire to use the camera to distort reality. I am kind of fed up with showing things as they are, you know? Overall, it's just odd, in the wy it keeps my attention. I can't quite put my finger on it. I don't even make sense anymore, just hinking in type.

Thanks again, your comments are always very clear to me.

I was across the pond, taken with the 70-200. It was an assignment for the paper, the boat has a generator on it used to stun fish in the pond so the Department of natural Resources can do a population count. It was actually pretty cool, and as the evening went on the light got really golden, there was food on the grill, and I was just hanging out. It was just a nice night out.

Thanks Seb. No reason to comment unless you have a different slant on things. I do that too. Have you gotten up to that building yet? I'd like to see your interpretation.
