    I'm so cliche it hurts

    Owell, here it is anyway.

Maxxum 5D, 210mm, f/5, handheld. No post work except resizing.

Is the first too blown on the top. Three images, because it is all the same subject/same day, etc.

Cliche or not, you got some gorgeous texture and color here! It does seem a little bright on the top of the flower, but still...it doesn't detract from this at all for me.
Minor nitpick...it's cropped a smidge tight at the bottom...but overall a great shot.

Wow, you replied while i was adding the rest. You're quick! Thanks for your thoughts on the first bud. I wish I had a diffuser with me that day, hot spots ruined many shots that would've been otherwise beautiful.

Lol! Next time I'll give you a chance to get all your pics up there...hehe.

While I like your other two shots, I definitely think the top one is the strongest of the bunch. Others may feel differently.

Re: I'm so cliche it hurts

Payn - I like # 2 a lot. It's colors really jump out. The first one, it is good for the most part but the dying leaves at the bottom ruin it for me. I guess I feel that a flower should be completely beautiful. The bottom one, it had potential but I think that the entire flower should have been in focus, and the bottom area is fading out. Keep in mind your hyperfocal distance setting here, using your DOF preview (if your cam has it - a lot of them dont anymore ). The top is also too hot compared to the rest of the shot.

Most shots of landscapes etc can be considered cliche, I suppose... but there are still an infinite number of them waiting to be captured.

The top one look washed out to me, but my monitor is defintely not calibrated. It looks like it might need some more saturation, but then again my monitor...The last one looks good and I don't notice the dying leaves so much, but it shows that beauty is always fleeting. Nice job!

    Payn

Their all good but the top one with all that detail is excellent and its not too blown. Someone mentioned dying leaves - I can't see them their just the bud housing opened and still alive from what I know of plants which isn't much
