    Re: Illustrated Style

Has the look of Alverado's work, but not sure the processing has been pushed far enough. These still look very photographic.
I took the second shot, duplicated the background layer, hit FILTER>NOISE>DESPECKLE 3 times and cut the opacity to about 60% the result was much closer to Alverado's illustrative airbrush look without losing any significant detail.

    Re: Illustrated Style

Phil, I would say that you have that illustrated look going on well here and the model is evenly lit (although I think the hair could use some more detail and exposure as well as the top) but basically you have it close enough.
I know your going for the Alvorado look and I think what sets him apart from the rest is his choice of models and the styling/wardrobe and concept.

He just shot Playboy playmate Claire Sinclaire for retro Lovely mag and in a promo video of the shoot it looked like he had one medium sized softbox on her as main and a 7" reflector several feet behind her opposite the main, as rim. She was sitting on a box so it was not "full body length" which is why the medium box should work there.

I would say you pretty much have the lighting and pp down but it just comes down to wardrobe and model choice. He uses a lot of striped stockings, hats, props, etc and those are the things that make a big difference.

I think these shots and PP are great Phil, personally I just think the model and wardrobe are the weakest link here..
please do not edit and repost my photos

thanks Gary... yep to copy Alvarado is to get those type of models...and those props. I asked him about it and he actually have props supplied to him. But it's really nice to here that my PP and lighting is almost there. It's one of those things of PP and lighting chops I wanted to develop and put in my bag of tricks in case I need to use it for a specific situation. ;)
