    Icerink

This is one from the UK outing yesterday, more from which can be seen in Viewfinder.
Is this work ok with you?

Nice shot Tom. Your work has been top notch here latley and this is very good. A lone skater going by would have been nice but certainly this can stand as is. The thought crossed my mind to clone all of the people but the one child as well, but as I stated this is good just like it is. Great work Tom.

Tom, I have to say that this composition is not doing it for me. I'm not sure exactly what it is, or isn't.
I think I want to see symetry in this shot. I feel that having the exit gates in the center and the lines or gaps from the layers even in the frame would help alot. The layers alone are not enough, I think. btw, I enjoyed viewing the UK gathering in the View finder forum and noticed the shot posted there in color. I seem to like it better with the colors. . .it offers more.

I only have a minor issue with you not being squared up with the exit door causing the lack of symmetry in the roof lines. I noticed it as my eye roamed around the image but perhaps that the lack of perfect symmetry caused me to think about the image more than if it were perfect.

I haven't seen the color version so the B&W works for me.
    No, I DON'T need that.

Many thanks Greg MB and Gary.
Indeed it was the layers (8 in all I think) that attracted me to this but perhaps it has too many. I do agree that a combination of having a little action on the ice and being a bit off centered would give this the something that I also felt was missing. I think I could have done better on this one but I have to say I do like the tiers/layers

    Tom,

I like all the different layers; that was what I noticed when I first saw it. I also generally like the symmetry, but I wonder what it would look like if the door wasn't quite so centered? I also saw the color version in Viewfinder, but it seemed a little crooked (if I recall correctly). I liked it as well.

Tom,,,I like the strong lines here..What worries me is placing the exit almost smack in the middle at the top..I would of placed the exit either to the left or right of frame..It may appear unbalanced to some but a tad more interesting,,,then again I'm unbalanced myself
Also make it a bit darker..
