    Ice Storm - The Landscape

Here is a landscape shot I took of the Dec 08 ice storm in NH. This photo was taken about 100 feet from the "The Damage" shot and both of these were about 100 yards from my house. My wife and I only spent ten days without power.

    Thanks for the comments.

Re: Ice Storm - The Landscape

    Hello, welcome Tracer!

I think this shot is pretty good. I like the framing of the iced branches and that they are in focus.
I wish the actual sky had as much detail and blue as the reflected sky.
I've seen this happen in other photos and don't know why. Probably something to do with physics.
    Keep Shooting!

I like this photo alot. It looks like the storm is not over. Brrrr, throw another log on the fire.

With this view so close to home I would have gone back out as soon as the sun came out to catch the fire in all that ice...

    Love the framing effect.

    Great catch.

The framing and the reflections are great.

I suspect the reason the reflection has more color that the sky is because the camera exposed for the ground which resulted in a slight over-exposure of the sky.

A graduated neutral density filter would take care of that.
    No, I DON'T need that.

This is Winter! The shot makes me want to put my coat on and makes a foggy breath come out of my nose and mouth as I shiver.

    Good work!
