    Ice fog

The morning dawned gray with thick fog, by 10:00 most of the fog had burned off and left a frosting on everything.

This is lovely. The stark red barn really works against the white forsted trees.

    Re: Ice fog

I think this would probably look great if lots bigger than can be presented here.
The barn does look tilted and I wish it wasn't in the center.

The barn is actually level in the scene, I put a grid up and cropped to the grid. The foreground has a little hill sloping to the right and that originally fooled my eyes and I had to crop to get level.

    Re: Ice fog

I like this frosty scene and the Red Barn stands out strong. My feeling here is that the pano style crop is limiting the potential for this scene. Opening up the top for more sky and the right side to allow the whole tree and possibly a little more space would open this up and allow the viewer into the scene. more space to the right would also bring the barn a bit over to the left and more away from the center.
    Nice scene and well done.

I'm hoping to get a pocket camera, but all the digital and film cameras I have are way to large. My latest camera purchase was a 4 by 5 inch view camera and that will never fit in a pocket

This image is incredible. I would definitely print this one have hang it immediately. I love the contrast between the stark white and the brilliant red. Masterfully done.

By digicam I meant those small ones, like a fuji f30, Result probably not as good as your 4x5, but you get the shots. These days, I've also seen people shooting candids with their phone cameras on the streets. If you don't pay attention, you thought they were simply dialing their phones.

    Re: Ice fog

I too think the crop is off. I think this would look better without the barn being in the center of the image and I'd like to see more sky-lots more.

Also I agree that the barn looks tilted to the left-sometimes even aligning with a grid can't correct for an optical impression.

The colors of the ice and barn work great together so I think this image is well worth working on.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    Re: Ice fog

Thanks for the suggestions and comments. I find I need help in the area of composition, fine tuning what I want to put on film. Enclosed is the original before the pano crop the only thing I did was crop and straighten, maybe a little more that on the pano version. Feel free to crop and change things a bit to help me learn.

Here's one way to do it:

You can't add what you have not included in your original shot.

Wait! Perhaps that's not true these days ;-)
