I went hiking, took some photos of the fall colors and view

Went on a good hike with a good group and took some photos along the way. I have some panoramics that I have not made yet and will post them as I finish them.

PANORAMIC, too large to fit this page, so see it here.

Great pictures as always. Calandar quality for sure. You can feel the height in the first. I love the color difference from the foreground trees to the mountian background...

Dave - Nice! Some suggestions to make them better yet is to perhaps do some PP to the sky to add a saturated look (a polarizer might have been great here?). The bottom shot, it is probably fine but the trees are angling right and that makes it appear as if it were titled. Soooo, I might try rotating the photo a little CCW and see if you can counter this effect... might be work a look.

Quite the landscape! Man, that place looks so beautiful and you've captured it very well.

Thanks again. I see the tilted trees, I'll deal with that sometime. I have a UV filter on my camera, but on days like that, the sky really doesnt have a lot of color which I find to be too bad. I actually did add some saturation.

These are gorgeous. I'm drooling over the color. Couldn't be any better.

I'm in Washington too, but I look at Ranier every day. It's nice to see something different.
    It's not blurry. It's bokeh.

    David,

The first pano seems a little hazy but the second is wonderful and the others well what can I say they are terrific even though tress are a little off the vertical.

I usually look at the photos here and move on without comment, because I usually want to say what's already been said.

But, I just wanted to say WOW!. I really like these photos, and being an outdoors fan doesn't hurt either.

I took a look at the big panoramic too. Makes me want to get a 27 inch screen and keep it as my screen saver.

Just curious, do you happen to see any bears at the time you were walking?

Re: I went hiking, took some photos of the fall colors and view

I havent seen any bears hiking, as I dont actually go that often. As for the first panoramic, that one is hazy because it was taken from more of a distance than the other one using my 135mm lens. I think it turned out well. Sorry about the tilt of that one.

I have another, huge, panoramic that I made that I will post later today.
Thanks, again, for all the kind comments. (I need to get down to Ranier someitme, and to the Olympics too for more shots, in a new area).

That's my backyard but can't get up there anymore due to health so thanks for showing me what I remember.
As for the trees leaning, you'll notice that not all of them are which makes me think the lean is from wind and they end up growing that way.
Christian, no one sees Rainier every day, as it is frequently clouded in which leads to our local colloquialism, "The mountain is out today"

Trail to the lookout on Winchester Mountain, 7 miles up a dirt road off the Mount Baker Highway. Yes, a hiking trail.

Now, today I made this panoramic of a 180 degree view and it didnt turn out as I would have liked for color and brightness. Next week I will make it again, so then it will look much better I believe. CLICK HERE FOR LARGE PANORAMIC
