    I Struck Lightning

    I know there are much better photos of lightning, some probably taken by other members, but I was so excited to have finally captured one.
    So, too much darkness on the top?

    yeah, having so much cloud doesn't add much...unless you're like me and were just stoked to have gotten a good shot. I like the bird.

    Nice! I still don't have lightning. What settings did you use? From what I understand alot of people use shutter speeds of 10 to 30 seconds.

    I use between 4-8 seconds. I think the one I posted in viewfinder was 4 seconds. The downside of using really long exposures (for my camera anyway), is that anything longer than 6 sec requires some recording time rather then allowing me to just hit the remote trigger again the second I hear the shutter close.
