    I See Icy DC.

Winter is finally here and bitter cold it is. A couple images of a tunnel under the C&O Canal and a shot of the frozen Potomac.

I'm thinking the lines of the railing and sidewalk work well in the Potomac image and the bike adds a little perspective.

I like the out of focus dog walker in the tunnel but am not sure if I got the icycles sharp enough.

The colors of the icycles and the tunnel lights might work.

    Thoughts?

    MB-

I love #3! Is that the tunnel down to Fletcher's boat house? Great find and capture on that. I think #2 looks strangely washed out and just doesn't carry the same impact. #1 seems like a pretty mundane scene in comparison with the tunnel shots. Perhaps it's the size of the image but I'm not reading frozen Potomac so much as bike against a railing. Overall though I would have to say good for you for being out there on your bike and with your camera!

It is a tunnel under M Street just past Georgetown about a mile from the boat house.

It is funny/ironic that I put some effort into the first 2 images and the one that everyone seems to like (here and on Road Bike Review) was just a last minute snap.

MB - I'd have to say that nothing really jumps out at me here... The bottom one is the best imo.. sort of reminds me of cave exploring, esp Carlsbad Caverns in NM. I do like the depth of #1, but there just isnt a strong enough subject.

    Keep shootin'.

Cool! (so sorry. i had to)

    All of them are great.

    #1: I see no flaws

#2: A little washed out, but adds a great effect, keep it that way, I like it, rules are meant to be broken

#3: I just wish the bike was at a slightly different angle or maybe closer to you so it could be more pronounced.

    Re: I See Icy DC.

I can't seem to offer anything about the 1st or the 3rd, since the moment i saw the 2nd, i simply fell in love with it, granted the sharpness on the icicles would have been more than welcome, but the effect and the shot and the DOF are all what make this one for the ages...

I know that people who dislike "B-movies" (i think this what is referred to those flicks) won't really like it... but it does, Great shot...

So minus the focus issue which is not a big deal.... this is one great shot
