I Heart Satan, But Which One?

I was at an anti war rally the other day and saw this guy.
These are the only two frames of him I have, I just can't decide which is the better of the two..
What do you think and why?
    Thanks!

I took my step daughters to a Marilyn Manson concert about six years ago. How would like to be around 20,000 more just like this guy. You would be surprised at some of the things I saw that night. I thought I was going to get burned at the stake before I got out of that one. Thank the good lord my step daughters grew out of that phase of their lives.

I like the expression on his face in #1, so I guess that one.

I'd go for #1 too. I like the sucker out of his mouth.

    Brian,

If you make me pick then the first because the chap on the right is out of the frame. But honestly neither do much for me but could be good as a newspaper pic.

    Hey Brian,

I like the first one best, but both are good. I like the contrast between the sucker (which is kind of an innocent childish thing) and the...well...the rest of him. You can also see the stickers on his board better in the first and he has a mischievous grin. Although I can make a guess at the general message of his stickers, I wonder how he would explain them. Did you talk to him?

Cool stuff! Thanks for sharing!

Re: I Heart Satan, But Which One?

    Brian,

I like the second photograph a lot better than the first the more I look at them.

It is far more dynamic with the women giving the power sign and the Red Elvis clapping.

The first one has too much of sk8r mugging for the camera. Far more persona in the second photograph.

What is that white 'thing' behind his head in both photos??

The 'shine' on his forehead even works better in the second photo to emphasize his face.

Re: I Heart Satan, But Which One?

    Brian,

DRGs comments helped me figure out what bothers me here; it's balance. I agree with drg about the people in the background of the second shot, but I still prefer the subject in the first shot. But, with the empty space behind the guy and interesting people in front of him, both shots feel a little off balance to me. I think moving the subject off center to the right would help.
