How did I do?

This is from a senior picture sitting I did earlier this week. This was one of the last photo I took and I didn't notice his collar was folded down. I tried to fix it but I can't decide if I did a good enough job to have reprints make from the corrected version.

Not good enough...the shading is off, as is the color.

I don't know how this will fly by the parents. I suggest you contact them and see what they think about the untouched original, and reshoot if you have to. Edited stuff like this is easy to notice, and if they see you tried to cover up mistakes they may not hire you again.

I think the ethical and smart thing to do here would be to admit you missed it, see what they say and offer to reshoot this particular shot for no charge,

I planned to show them the original photo but was just hoping I might be able to give them a corrected one to look at also. I have plenty more photos of him but if it were not for the collar in this one it would be my favorite.

Lose the jacket and use a film that is less color saturated. I think the posing is good and you have the skill to accomplish this shot

The jacket is his HS jacket, I'm sure he worked his ass off to get those letters, be it football or baseball or whatever. I guarantee you he sleeps and showers in that jacket, losing is is NOT an option when high schoolers have thse things...at least from my experience.

Thanks for the complement =). We did some without the jacket and with his horse but I've known this young man for a few years now and I think I like this one becaues it captures who he is. He and his dad live and work on a local ranch and he's a cross country runner so it think it works in that context. If he wants to retake I'll do some without the jacket.

Any tips on how to do a better job fixing the collar? It does not have to be perfect but something that would look ok on a wallet size photo.
