    Really nice, TF.

(The title actually had me thinking about different subjects... ).

There isn't much to improve in my opinion, #1 I'd say leave as is now. Love the background bokeh on both ("beercan"...?), and nice bird poses as well. The eye catchlights help "liven up". To improve #2, perhaps a little cropping on the left so the finch isn't too centered, and have him looking more into the frame. Not sure if editing more will help, though. Good work!

. . . don't think they really need anything to improve these two OC.
They look like watercolour paintings - if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
The fine detail on each really adds to the overall impact, against the soft background
and that somewhat awkward angular pose on the HF makes the pic !

Goods photos, excellent background. Perhaps the 2 is slightly out of focus?

T - They're OK shots but not award winners. The angle is better on the second but it isn't sharp enough IMO and could probably use more contrast. The DOF may be too shallow. The lighting is consistent but not exciting. Hard to get everything right w/ a fleeting subject like these fellows......

    Thanks.

These are taken in the shade with probably a sun-lit background. What lighting would you be looking for? More direct, angled light providing some interesting detail?

    Re: House and Gold...

Not sure Terry.. it seems to lack contrast and has somewhat washed out details. Maybe a polarizer would have helped.

Just for fun, I took a shot at an edit. It's different, anyhow................
