Boy it must be nice to be able to go out and take shots like that without your face freezing to the LCD. Seriously though, I'd like to see a little bit of the foreground to help anchor the shot. I am guessing the foreground was less than flattering.

    EOS,

Can't beat this place. I moved here from Minnesota 30 years ago after freezing my hand to the gear shift knob in my car. I wouldn't leave SD on a bet. The foreground is a hedge. I have shots with just a thin line to give some sort of base. But, the dark line being unidentifiable ruined the shot. At least for me. This is as much of the base of the building available before the hedge. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Merry Christmas.

    Re: Hotel Del Coronado

CF - I have to get over there and see it before the holiday is over. Nice sharp image. I like the discrete look of the foreground palms. The blue is very svelte. The only complaint I have is that I can't help but wonder what I'm not seeing just below the bottom of the image. My curiosity is aching...

    GB,

Thanks for the messge. The Del looks great, so it would be a nice walk around in the evening. Actually, there is very little to see, at least from this vantage point which is on the sidewalk at the beach. But, I know what you mean. Thanks again. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year.

It is a nice photo, give them a copy and ask them to comp you a room!

I think you could crop from the left to just about the trunk of the palm tree on the left removing most of the horizontal light lines making the image more of a vertical showcase.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    MB,

    Hmm, I wonder....,

I will give the crop suggetion a try. I wonder if having only half the palm tree is a problem, though?

    Have a great Christmas.
