    Re: Horse photo contest

To my eye I don't see anything wrong. I am sure there are details obscured by the resolution of this post. I think it is just beautiful. My only suggestion would be to clear some space on your wall for the laurels you'll receive from exhibiting this.

I think this is a wonderful photograph.
I like how you placed the horses in the frame, using the "rule of thirds", so that they have a place to go.
I don't think the fence is distracting at all.

Good Luck! And let us know how you did.

By the way! Welcome to PR.com, I look forward to seeing more from you.

I've come back to this a few times trying to decide if the lack of definition in the snow is a problem or not, my conclusion is as I first thought its not a problem, excellent capture.

I think I'd take about a half-inch off the left side. Great shot.

    Re: Horse photo contest

It is a good photo. I like it a lot. As for taking the 1/2 inch off the right, I'd leave it in. It takes away from the single fence-post sitting out and drawing attention from the horses.

I also like the lack of definition of the snow. I really brings out the horses and gives the picture an ethereal feeling.

On another, non-related note, I don't like fences in photographs like this. Pictures where the fence is part of the subject is one thing, but pictures of fences, mailboxes, streetlamps, overhead powerlines, etc detract from the image in most cases, as far as I'm concerned.
