I'm afraid that I don't think your composition is working here.
The shot needs to be either wider or narrower which you might accomplish by cropping.
The background isn't bright enough for a high key shot and it has that weird blue halo around the outline of the horse, you've got parts of ears but not enough to be of interest but only a distraction.
Crop it down so there is nothing but horse and its eye. Play around with it to see what you like. I would leave the eye to the left of whatever frame you come up with.
