    Horror rock singer #2

In re: my earlier post yesterday, the blown out light, apparent color extremes, were all products of the actual lighting at the venue. It was LOUD and filled with sudden, dramatic lighting shifts. I was being bounced around in the crowd by dancers, while trying to get the pictures. Naturally, some jostled me on purpose, but that goes with the territory.

Anyway, here are a couple of better, IMO, shots of the singer and band. Actually for his menacing appearance, the singer is a pretty mild mannerd guy off-stage. He is a friend of a friend, and I talked to him for awhile a week or so later at a party. This is his "Stage personna." His day job, naturally, is IT.

Picture 1 is the guitarist and drummer. Picture 2 is the singer. All shot with 10D, ISO 1600, 135 f/2 lens, aperture and shutter speed unrecorded.

The one of the guitarist and drummer is excellent. It's a picture of a man at work, totally into to what his doing and totally oblivious to the camera. i may have liked to see more of the guitar body though.
The blurred drummer in the background adds to the real live context.

I agree with Tom, if you had had more of the guitar, would have been perfect. Your first shot is the best one of the series so far. The second one doesn't do much for me, though having his medallion star (?) on the black silhouette is a great touch IMO.

    Much better,

Stephen, the bottom shot reminds me of an album cover....Alice Cooper or Jim Morrison perhaps? I'd say you did fairly well considering the circumstances.
