    I'd say both have their place. They would work nice as a series on your wall or something. I like how you balance the detail with the softness. You must have had an interesting pp on these.

    I tend to prefer #2 for the punch of color and inner detail but it's just a personal preference, both are beautiful shots.

    Arne - I like the bottom's shape, composition and color better, but it's really too soft, I think ... can you sharpen it up? Not sure if any place is really sharp. May need to use a smaller aperture. The top one is very abstract but is less distinguishable as a shape.

    I like #1 , don't know what processing you used, but looks like a painting, the softness adds mood to the image

    #2 as GB mentions, looks a bit soft, and being such a close macro , I do not think it helps

    These GLOW. Beautiful on the black background although I also think they would look awesome with a square crop to show exactly what you want us to look at, let the black just edge out a corner of the frame. Bokeh in the first one is very nice. Detail in the tuilp is sweet.
