    Holga Kitty!

Hello, I'm not sure where to put this, so I'll stick it to you...er..I mean stick it here

Have you ever sampled the simple life of a Holga camera?
But why take your paws off your mega pixie high zoot camera?

Well, there are some guys modding Holga lenses to fit modern digi cams.
I picked one up on eBay a while back & its been collecting dust.
That lens ties into my 2008 resolution is to simply "do more".

So without further adieu, may I present "Holga Kitty"
He is so cute when he sleeps

    crops & edits welcome

cute kitten! it looks like the focus may be off a bit though, or the head may have been moving, because the eyes are blurred. it's a bit flat but thats an easy fix, try bumping up the contrast and you may like it more!

    Re: Holga Kitty!

If the Holga created the soft effect shown here, that is interesting. There used to be someone on the board (I forget his screen name right now ) who did quite a bit of Holga stuff, but they looked very different. Anways - not sure the soft effect really works here. It could, but the surroundings might need to be warmer, like a basket. Who knows. Experiments are a way of life with good photographers.

    That's the Holga promise !!
You can pay $300 for a Lensbaby that does similar things, but in a controllable way.
    Or buy about 10 Holgas

    Re: Holga Kitty!

Nice sweet image, and the subject is ok with the soft effect. It seems to me that the real treat or charm of the Holga was not the lens per say but rather the unpredictable light leaks throughout the body of the camera. Placing the holga lens on a digicam is missing the point, IMO.
btw, MTBrian is a huge holga shooter and often posts holga shots on the forums. also, member Megan does as well. I'm sure there are others but cannot think of them right now.
