Very nice shot Greg. It might be cool to have one item in color. The pipe gives a 3d effect. ..what is this film you speak of?

Kodak BW400CN. 400 is almost to fast to shot. I stay almost in the fastest settings. I love it.

Great setting but the right side in bright white keeps pulling my eye.
Can't think where it might be cropped exactly though.

It looks like shot that should come from a 50 year old camera. (That's a compliment. Is that about right on the QL-17?)

Every man's home is is castle, no? I visited Rome, GA not too long ago and didn't see anything like this. I may not have looked hard enough...

I think the camera is from the 70's. This is at the old Celanese mill across the highway from the Braves Stadium. Just look for the stacks.

    Greg,
I think this is a great 'feel' shot. I can imagine some homeless guy or gal scrounging around and bringing the day's 'catch' back.

    Hi Greg,
I love the many triangles in the shot; I think they help a lot in the composition. By the way, I am not familiar with Kodak BW400CN. Do you like the film?

Excellent shot Greg. Lots of depth and character.

I'm with Yoyo, I'm curious how you like the film. I'm dying to start getting some of my B&W processed but, don't have all my supplies yet. However, that film I can buy and have processed locally. It's very tempting to try out.

All those doors really make the nice sitting room look very untidy.
A good place to find Greg and to bring the camera. You got a good shot too. This would be very good in colour.

Interesting shot Greg. Nice. I like the texture in the doors. The bright part on the right doesn't so much distract me, but rather it makes me want to see more shots of what lies beyond what is seen in this one. It looks like an interesting place. You're inspiring me to gt out the B&W film again. I usually use Kodak T-Max 100 or 400.

Fine presentation for that film. I've shot with it a fair amount and it can be tricky to get work this well.

The right side loses some impact with the slight exposure of the sided wall, not enough of it or it should be removed/cropped/etc. The tonality coming through to me isn't the most complimentary. This tone doesn't 'fit' with these components. I do like that you choose something other than harsh black and white and I feel you have a very good contrast adjustment/exposure but the tone is slight too green in the yellow component.

Good eye to recognize this scene. I like the photograph with the above mentions notes. Thanks for showing this one.

Yes I really like the film. As Drg stated it can be tricky but I enjoy it with the rangefinder. You can shot in low light. The QL-17 lens is very fast. Almost too fast for 400ISO.
Aaron you would certainly be happy with the QL-17, it's very fun to shoot with.

Yes, a nice shot, Greg. Just needs a slight crop on the right is all.

Kodak B/W is a fun film, particularly with the Canonet QL17 GIII. But as I had stated in a previous post, one has to be careful with highlights on this film.

I wonder how many forum members actually use this camera? I might have to start a Canonet QL17 GIII wars on Viewfinder.

DRG, Thanks I haven't had a chance to get this one in Lightroom but I will try an adjust the green/yellow. This is out of camera.
Frog I thought about a crop but I like the beer bottles on the right side. I thought about moving them closer to the chair but thought the right side needed something of intrest.

    Greg,

I know I'm late to the party here, but this is a very nice shot. I would add my vote to those looking for a crop on the right side. If given the option on a reshoot, I'd probably move the bottles over around the chair and crop the right side off. Even better would be to find someone to sit in the chair . Great textures and tones

    Re: Hobo's Hideaway QL-17

Greg, this is a heck of a good shot. great find and although i agree a crop off the right would not hurt, i do not think it really is needed and would leave it be. It worked for me as soon as I viewed it, and so I would not suggest changing a thing. great tones and very nice composition of what could be an awkward scene to frame up.
    Well done.
