    Question hit or miss?

I'm really torn on this one, so I'll defer to public opinion...worth saving, or not?

Great composition, though I might crop out the negative space at the top. Worth saving, IMO. I would love to see this in b/w.

Did you post this completely uncropped, btw?

    Re: hit or miss?

Sadly, the only "extra" space is to the top and right where I had cropped off about 1/2'' to bring the negative space down closer to the hair, and about a quarter inch to the right to maintain aspect ratio. Really wish I'd gotten that extra quarter inch on the left, because the tightness of her nose to the edge of the frame bothers me. I have others from this shoot I'm quite pleased with, so if this one doesn't end up making the cut it's not the end of the world.

    Re: hit or miss?

Yeah, looking at it again, I'd say that the two things which bother me are the space at the top and the lack of room on the left.

I've done this kind of thing so many times - cropped in-camera, thinking that my first instincts were better than they actually were, only to end up wishing that I'd left more space in there to play around with later - that I almost always shoot wider or farther back than I feel compelled to these days.

I do like the shot (and still think it's worth saving and working with some more), though, and I can't wait to see more.

I like it because it's different.

Try a square crop down from the top. I just scrolled down until the top of the image was offscreen and it looked a whole lot better. Some post work and it could be a CD cover.

Both are great shots, I like the second one best because of the eyes.

She's a friend of a friend, early 40's and interestingly enough would prefer to remain an anonymous/fictional character.

Cool. Well, I asked because I didn't want to offend anyone who might be related to or married to or seeing anyone by saying that the chin in #s 1 and 2 might require a little attention. Didn't notice it at first, but now it's all I see...

    Re: hit or miss?

That's a hit my goodness. I do like the crop of the space above the head but I'd have left more there. Love the last one just brilliant.
    Shootme...

Please don't edit and re-post or use my images (not that you'd want to anyway...). without my written permission. Thank you

Shape or texture? Already reshaped but do see some texture issues that could be softened up.

Texture, definitely. The shape is fine!

Both are really nice, a different approach that does look good.
