    Re: Him

the picture was working really well without the hand, which looks 2 dimensional, in a fairly 3d picture

    Re: Him

    Hi Tuna,

I really like this image and find it both humorous and thought provoking. There are several ways to view the content, given the subject matter and composition. I like the finger pointing, it is what make me chuckle, as if it is directing the man’s course. I also like that he is turning the corner but you cannot see what lies ahead. You could be a pessimist and say that the man is mindlessly following a blind path or on the flip side it could be an opportunity that has not been realized. I understand that you may have had a completely different desired outcome for the content of this image, but that what my simple mind sees. Regardless this is a wonderfully pre-visualized image that is thought provoking.

    Regards,

    Phil

HA HA HA HA!!! The first thing I thought when I saw this was Monty Python! As is the case with most of your work the title is the clue and the punch line. HA HA HA HA HA!! Hope you had a lovely day at the East Wing.

Tuna, I think that this is superbly composed and I too enjoy the fact that there may be several interpretations to the picture. My only concern is that the hand nearly looks pasted. I understand that it is not but it kinda looks weird.

Great observation, Seb. Even on my own (calibrated) monitor the hand has too much contrast - I should have noticed. I've reposted a fixed and, hopefully, better version.

Indeed, it blends fairly well now.

    Re: Him

Tuna, this is well spotted and done. It is certainly humorous, whatever ones interpretation may be. I am glad that the mans head just made it above the horizontal line of the beam near the top of his head. At first I was not sure i was ok with the vertical line (corner of the glass) rising up between the mans legs (ouch), but the more i look it does not seem to be too important and I'm more at ease with it. Another good thought-provoking image.

    Re: Him

The guy is hell bent on where he is going but if he's not careful he is going to crack his head very hard. He's following the hand's instruction to the 'T' and that's not good. This photograph is ordinary in some little ways but in other ways it's very strange and that what makes it difficult for me to articulate my feelings about it. But your forte Tuna is to always offer us something out of the ordinary and it keeps us looking.

    Re: Him

He's obviously from Clan O'Canon on his way to war LOL - see the viewfinder if the statements meaningless

This is so intriguing - will he reappear on the walkway above his head, or is he on the way to the underworld? Whatever he's doing it looks as if he's from the Ministry of Silly Walks!!

Excellent capture, just thinking the hand should be slightly smaller to make you look harder.

Wish I'd thought of this - nice one Tuna

This is a pretty fun shot...and I thought of Monty Python too...hehe. The guy's walk looks like he's carefree about following the pointing finger too...lol.

Really funny Tuna. It's nice that the guy's walking out of the frame, normally a no-no, strengthens the shot.

This looks like an Expulsion from the Garden but could also fly under the title "Goose" or "Poke".

    Re: Him

I laughed out loud when this opened. Awesome. The only thing I would say is to crop it to put more focus on the hand/man relationship. It took me a second to figure out what's going on. I am however medicated and running a fever, so take it for what it's worth.

    Re: Him

VERY FUNNY! An excellent example of found humor in black and white! Cudos to you for capturing this!

The hand does look a little "added" to me but I know that it is not. For some reason, the hand looks much sharper than the man.

My nitpicks are cropping and framing issues. I would love to see more space on the left for him to move into. And the second nit is I might consider shaving a hair off the top of the frame so that the tree and skylight are cut out.

    Nicely done!

Some very nice comments and some very extensive, well thought-out critiques. Thank you!

By the way, the hand is stuck to the glass in this museum to help show the way...
