    Hiking

I took this last year exactly, and never did anything with it. I was shooting down off a cliff to the trail below. I never knew if this shot was worth anything... is there anything to this shot? Let me know how you like it.

Also, here was the view I had from where I was sitting...

I like the second one. The first one seems a little off though.I think it's the angle. It feels like you're flying over the hikers.

    Re: Hiking

Dave, I'm going to disagree with Mongoose on the first shot. The diagonals of the trail lead me right through the shot, and the colors are nice and strong.
As for #2, the clouds and snow on the left side seem a wee bit blown out.

    Hi,
I am with John about the colour and the composition in Photo 1. It is a strong image. Thanks for sharing.

Dave - Two very good shots here, something that's reoccurring in your posts. I think your linking them to get a larger size really works, cause a 640 px limit wouldn't do them justice!

My only negative comment would be that both while very good prob need a 'punchline' to put them over the top. It's hard to stand out with nature/landscape shots cause so many people are doing them (and doing them well).

    Re: Hiking

I like the hiking shot. It really gives me the image of how steep that trail is. The mountain one is good, but I think a little blown out in some spots.

I know what you mean by that, so that's what I try to figure out. My panoramics stand out the most. Thanks for the comments. The second one here actually isnt a panoramic from joined images - I just cropped it down a bit. It's blown out because I added too much contrast. I could play with the original more to make it better, I'm sure.
