    High Key

Hi all .. I spent an hour or so today trying to learn something about high key photography - not something I've ever done before. How did I do? If there are any high key experts out there, I would really appreciate your feedback! Feedback from anyone is, of course, very welcome.

    Cheers
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
Never having any experience with high key photography, I can't really give an adequate critique, except the garlic seems a little blown out.

    Re: High Key

Mike, I think you did very well here. The apple is fine and sets off nicely. the soft green color, the composition and position of the slices works just right. My only thoughts critique wise would be that maybe the rim of the apple should be stronger in contrast. Perhaps the bg was lit up a bit too much and began bleeding into the lines of the apple. I like the softness of it here, but I wonder what it would look like with a stronger darker edge.
The garlic image is technically on par with the apple image but I think the choice of garlic as a subject for high key might not be a good idea. The white clove seems lost againt the high key bg.
Your work is always impressive nonetheless. . . .

I like the apple but agree with Gary that the second one is blown out. Nice work Mike. Glad to see you learning new tricks.
