    High Contrast Self Portrait

    First time ever trying anything like this.... what do you think?

    I like it. But I think it could even be better if the nose was better defined.

    I agree with Gb about the nose. The eyes are awesome, maybe the possibility of a pano crop across the eyes?

    yeah thats good and i agree with the other fella's the nose could be more detailed but good work!

    Thanks very much...I am much more comfortable on the other side of the camera, so this was a bit of a twist for me - I will have to try again and try to get my nose more defined...

    Just take the left eye (right in the image) and make your new avatar
    I think you need just a little shadow to define the shape of the nose.
    Not much, just a little less exposure and a reflector to one side to give a slight shadow.

    Let your chow-chow take the shot. Maybe some light from the top would create some more shadow below the nose?
