Welcome to the site, Stacey. I think you'll find you might get a better response in Critique if you actually attach an image with your post instead of linking to it (I dunno, maybe folks are lazy...).

Your pics are pretty cool. Like close-ups, eh? Perhaps the dragonfly could be a slightly better compostion (and closer), but I understand how hard those kinds of shots are to begin with. Sometimes you have to be happy with what you get...

Welcome to PR!!! Seems like you have some good pictures. I especially like the one with the little girls eye - good composition. Sharpness and color is good.

I'm lazy. So for lazy folks like me, pls upload the image or link it in using the Insert Link icon there (the Earth and Chain icon).

Welcome to the forum, Stacy. I think your shots are good as they are creative and colorful. The I Spy one is a good concept. The blue sort of distracts me. Perhaps if you converted it to Black & White (desaturated it) in your favorite photo editing software, it might take care of that. It is also a little bit "soft" (not sharp). Not sure why but it's possible your lens does not focus in that close and that you were on the inner side of its focal range. The Dragonfly is a good catch, but if you could get even closer that would be even better. Since you'd probably scare the fellow away if you moved in, a long zoom lens might be the only option.

Hope to see more of your shots in the future - GB

    Welcome to the forum.

I like the dragon fly shot. I'd suggest cropping it to a vertical shot with the flower stalk/drogon fly positioned in the right half of the frame. Photos are often more dynamic when the subject is positioned about 1/3 of the way in from the edge. (google 'rule of thirds') and putting them on the right will leave room in the frame for the dragon fly to move into.

The skin on the other shot seems yellowish to me, I'd suggest warming it up a bit. The OOF nose seems a distraction too.

I agree with Steve about posting the photos here.
