    Re: Hey

It isn't the camera its the exposure unless your camera doesn't have ways to compensate or adjust the exposure.
You have burned out highlights across the top of the dog and the couch arm while the lower right is without detail from being too dark. The light you were working with just had too much contrast. Fill flash might have helped.
On the other hand, I love the dogs expression and its a worthy catch whether its a top notch photo or not.
    Keep Shooting!

    Re: Hey

No flash, my camera does have exposure settings. The only light was from the window behind the dog. Would you say i should of had more exposure to get detail on the right side of his face?

I don't have enough experience for what to look for in a camera, so i appreciate the criticisms

    Re: Hey

It's a little soft, I like the lighting from the window, but it could use a little fill flash to help with the left side of his face.

This site will host photos for you and more people will critique your photo if it's embedded in your post. Down below the frame for text is a frame for additional options, one of them is upload photos. Just resize the photo to 640 on the longest side and the quality so it's less than 244.1 kb and upload it. If you leave the checkbox for "add photos to my gallery" checked, you'll start your gallery here too.

    Re: Hey

I really like the look on the dogs face. This one is in better focus than the last as well. The first thing you need to work on is the rule of thirds. The dogs face is just to centered. Welcome to PR and I look forward to me pictures.

Yes more like that but you have clipped the dogs paw, but you get the idea.
