he's skiing backwards through the air

I posted a link to this shot and some others in the sports forum.
I think this is one of my best skiing shots.... erver. But I wanted to make sure some others agree.
So what do you think, does the composition work, the colors good?
If you looked at the other thread, are there any others that you like better?

    Hello,

I think you've done well at capturing the action here. The colors are clean and working well together, and the focus is sharp. That said I think this would work better with a tighter crop right now the skier feels small within the scene as a whole. If it were mine I would include the slope of the jump hill but not so much of the ground. A good capture, you have every right to be very happy with it.

I like it. The colors are splendid. I like it that you shot this in portrait and placed the skier at the top, it gives it a since of height. Nice work.

    thanks yall!
CL, how much of a tighter cropp do you think it should have? i left it this way to show the height of the jump,
    same with this one

do you think the ground should still be in the shot, or all skier?

This is what I was thinking of but of course it's open to your personal preference. It still shows the height of the jump but cuts down on the dead space.

i think the wider crop works, but now that I know he's going backwards, I want to see the open space reversed, so he has somewhere to go to, and it shows it more. But if you don't know he's going backwards, this works very well.

i didn't know he was going to do the 3. also, i wanted to show him over the mountain in the back ground. that's why i have it set up this way.

i knew this guy was going to do a 3, so i set up behind him.

he's going away from the camera
