Another nice one Tuna. The bird almost looks like part of the sign..

I think the sign and heron silhouette are intrigueing but there is too much background.

A fine shot. For me, the amount of background is what sets off the small sign with the Heron. The contrast of light and dark, colors, and subject to background forms the strength of this shot. The colors are effective,as is your composition.

I didn't even notice the heron at first, and when I did, it made my liking for the photo rise 10 fold. At first is just looks like a picture of a sign that someone tried to make look photographic, then all of a sudden a bird! makes it much better. THe amount of background works very well.

Tuna your shots more often than not set a standard for me to aspire to. Sorry, but I'm not getting this one. The presence of the small heron on the sign is not lifting this or giving enough interest to a large but ordinary waterfront environment.

I have a total lack of respect for anything connected with society, except that which makes the roads safer, the beer stronger, the food cheaper, and the old men and old women warmer in the winter and happier in the summer. Brendan Behan

Agreed. I think the heron would also have more impact if it was NOT a silhouette and had more detail and colour and occupied a much larger part of the frame.

Hey Tuna - Threre is a lot of negative space here. If the bird was a colorful one, it might pull me over to it a little better.

Still, nice shot of a quiet waterfront area. It's amazing how little I get down to the water, even while living at a beach town
