With the help of my 13 year old.

This was a result of a less than perfect day outside, fortunatley it was my wifes birthday and the gals at her work got her some very nice flowers. I recruited my 13 year old daughter to help me, she sprayed the rose with water, held a flash light and helped hold up the back drop which in this case was a dark green pull over fleece coat. Still new with shooting but loving every new challenge. Can't wait for the 30D to come out next month!

    Anthony,

Great shot. A tad cliche with the water droplets, but that lighting is superb if it's purely by flashlight. I love how we can see the brightness change from bright to dark on the flower...wonderful shot. Great DOF, though I might have cropped off a little bit off the bottom.

    Well done,

    Jared

i really like the softness of the rose with the droplets of water on it
but i feel the light is to hot on the flower and the leaves below it which draws my eyes off the pictures
    but nice make shift studio
