    Re: HDR Bridge

TBH I found it a bit over saturated, and the composition itself does not aid either.

Yea... I think this was the best one out of that day. I couldn't get anything that seemed to work. The area is pretty cool but I need more practice I guess!

    Re: HDR Bridge

I think the shot needs to be wider. I know though when shooting scenes like this it can be very limiting to where and how you shoot.

Wow, that looks alive. Nice work. Compositionally I think I would have backed out and gotten a little more space above the bridge, maybe more water too, but it's OK.

I'll sure try something next time I visit (not sure when).

I remember almost falling a few times on the wet rocks with moss!!!

What I really want to do is get a ND filter and do a long exposure to see how that is or be at the spot at dawn/dusk.

wow that looks ridiculously like this bridge here:

    Covered Bridge in fall

but i'm pretty sure its not.

anyways with an hdr you should be able to get color in the sky as well.

Haha... It's the same one. I was at near McConnell's Mill visiting my parents and went to go check this place out. Everytime I went it was so wet and made rock climbing impossible for me!

    Re: HDR Bridge

Kurt, I find that i like the composition and while I agree that it looks as though backing up would be better, I think you run into the problem of being in that spot where its neither close enough or further enough away. i think all in all its pretty good. There is a pleasing balance as well as a pleasing simplicity to it with the tight crop.
I do think that you need to tweak this to bring it up a notch. The WB is off as there appears to be too much green/yellow to this and a little aharpening can help too.
I'm a little troubled by the sliver of white sky on top the bridge, and if you have any experience in cloning with Photoshop you could try adding some more of the tree foliage into the sky for fill.

    Nice work

    Re: HDR Bridge

well since it is mcconnells mills bridge (even though the rocks still look off to me) .... i will say that its a major pain, if nto impossible to hid the mill, the dam just upstream, and all the cars/telephone lines/guard rails etc that are around. let alone avoid the sky, cause even if its not blow out its usually just that whitish gray anyways!

you can see my attemps in the link i provided above.

Much better. I like the fill in the sky and the clarity is better. I still think you can reduce some of the warmth and some saturation
    Very nice
Also, the other shot you posted is cool too, but I think that would could def benefit from a slightly wider crop
    interesting and beautiful area
