    Tell me what you think

I framed this just like it is with the dead flowers left in intentionally for the contrast with the blooming yellow flower, Jeff

Nice colors. Great focus. The dead flower does not do anything for me, but I have no idea if that is considered good or not in flower shots.

This is one I posted about a 1 1/2 weeks ago without the dead flowers. I just got to looking at the shot with the dead flowers in it and kinda liked it. I thought it was something a little different, Jeff

I wish it coud be more isolated, but I like the circle-of-lifeness of it. Clockwise - full bloom, partial bloom, dead, what looks like it could be a regeneration phase, then the bud and back to full bloom. Without something like that as a subject, I would go way closer to fill the frame with the single flower. - TF

Re: Tell me what you think

Took me a while to figure out why it was not appealing to me.
The idea is great; life/death/in-between. I just think the background makes it so busy that the theme gets lost.

Nice shot! but definitely the background takes away a lot of strength from the main subject.

Re: Tell me what you think

Jeff, I appreciete the shot with the dead flowers included, and as Terry says there is a circle of life going on. They definitely make it a different shot and for me, allows a greater appreciation of the very existence of life.
I do feel though as Rob and others pointed out that the background is really fighting with the subjects for attention. there should be a better isolation of the subjects possibly by shooting from a different perspective where there is less goings on beihind or, hitting the main subjs with a light and reducing overall exposure so whatever is in the bg will not stand out.
nice, and good idea to included what normally is excluded.

Thanks to everyone for stopping by and taking a look. I have to agree the background is too busy but there is still something about this that I like. Thanks again to everybody for your comments, they are always welcome, Jeff
