    Hangs in the balance...

I took this pic when I was at my brothers house during the UGA/West Virginia game (Peach Bowl). This was during a key play that changed the tide of the game. I took this with my QL17 with Kodak Gold 200. F/1.7 @1/30 or so. Go easy on the photo I was working on my 4th or 5th beer for the night (don't worry I didn't drive home). Lack of sharpness is definitely user error and not the camera. Some PS work has been done. I am taking a PS class at school right now, so I am trying to improve, but my skills are still pretty basic. Thanks for looking.

Like driving, you'll take better pictures if your sober.

Too bad all the people who know how to run this country are busy running taxicabs or cutting hair.

To be honest, this looks like a quick snapshot with a p&s. Besides the the fact that its your brother or friend, the photo is not very interesting. The focus is not so great on the face and there is a lot of noise. The light just peaking over his neck is creating a horrible glare and lastly, it was cropped from its original size ratio. So its obvious that there was something else technically wrong before the crop.

There are a lot of technical issues here that hurt your shot, and though I defend the 'emotion over technique' idea any day (see 'Viewfinder' forum), there isn't much to capture viewer interest here, so combine that with the technical problems (focus, bright spot, color, etc.), this one should go into the pile that you can look upon to help with future shots.

After 4 or 5 beers at my age I would have needed a tripod and shutter release and knowing the QL-17, someone to focus it for me LOL. I think it's a nice emotional picture and I like the low angle approach, the light in the background is a little distracting. That QL-17 works well in low light. I can't believe that's iso 200.
