The Hand: Sculture (didn't record artist's name)

Available light. I ued my technique of merging a series of images high and low contrast.
Then merged a bright high contrast image of just the hand.

That is strange - almost a cartoonish quality to it. I must have a play with it myself.

Looks like you might have shot at to high of an ISO due to the low light, I might would have tried a slightly lower angle and you are leaning left. But the subject is interesting and I would like to know the story on it.
I also might have tried a close up or two.

Thanks guys. The light wasn't bad in the gallery. I shot with ISO 100. I have a pretty steady hand. I used heightened contrast on the hand to bring it out. That's why it looks that way.

Nice picture and interesting process Don.
Is it just me or is anyone else thinking Monty Python?

The left lean sort of adds to the surrealism of this.
I might have backed off a bit to include both ends of the barricade rope. Don't know that you could have got the peak of the ceiling in without it being too wide though.
    I like the effect.

I had my back to the wall. This is a 38 mm (equiv) lens.

I agree with Greg, if the camera was lower than the hand would be framed against the ceiling areas and would stand out better.....
