    hammock relaxing

I got this one on sunday. my girl friend got her new hammock from mexico. I personally love this shot. maybe it's because i know the girl, but i like the colors and the strings in the foreground.

    any thoughts?

The colors are very good, but I have to say the strings really distract me. I can't get a clear view of a lovely subject.

This works for me. I too like the colors and her expression is Gold. The out of focus strings in the fg give this something more than a typical portait but more of a "Gotcha" kind of moment.

Its a really good gotcha feel to it. My only critique is that the eye's (both) are obscured, if only you had one of them in sharp focus.

    I agree, it's a nice image.

Just an inch or two to the right and you could have put her eyes in the gaps between the strings.
That would have made it better.
Or having the strings parallel to the camera, so they are all equally blurred, preferably as blurred as the ones on the left. I can just make out enough of the eye on the left side to work with the same focus on the strings on the right.

    Re: hammock relaxing

i do wish i could have seen the eyes. but she was swinging a little bit so i wasn't really able to focus on such a detailed part of the composition. and i didn't want to ask her to stop and pose cuz i thought that that would ruin the authenticity of the shot.

    thanks for all your comments
