    I like the composition and the tonal range in the first image a lot. The focus is very nice too.

    The second image doesn't have the range from very dark to blown out highlights that the first image does so I don't find it as interesting.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    I like the lines of the second image, though it's somewhat blown out on the left side. Those droplets almost look alive and threatening....
