Great Blue Heron

[Hopper]

Hello everyone
I shot these a few weeks ago and was interested in some feedback.
both shots were taken seconds apart #1 I almost missed altogether and cut the bird in half
but thought it might be saved. ???
the second photo,i managed to allow some lead-in space,but not sure on the pp.too saturated?

I prefer the second one, and although I see what you mean about it being oversaturated, I am not sure it would look as good if you desaturate it at all, would need an example I think.

Second is better because it has the whole bird, but the first has superior impact . Both are good.

Nah the first is better in almost every way. Way better detail on the wings. Better focus.

I looked at the photos before I read what you had to say and my first thought was that these look way over saturated and unnatural. I thought the PP work was a little over the top for my liking. I think both photos are very good and I love all the detail in the first image but I think you need to back off of the PP a little bit on both.

Good job in capturing the flying heron !

I like the pink flowers background , but the detail on the bird in the first shot is way better

I prefer the desaturated version
