    Tuna,

Great "voyeuristic" type picture. I love this, and personally, wouldn't change a single thing. A wonderful capture to say the least, beautiful, light tones, and a wonderful composition!

    Well done.

Very well thought composition. great negative space, with woman looking into it. Tones of flat gray really bring out the strong contrast of the sole woman figure standing and her bag on the bench. Simply, well done.

I wonder what she is thinking or doing. You can imagine she lost a loved one there, or this place has some other special meaning. Perhaps she is just getting up and adjusting her coat because it is cold, and the solitude and tones enhance the feel. Great stuff as always.

    Tuna,

This is terrific, the two bright spots by her hand gave me the intial impression she's about to draw a hopscoth grid on the floor with the chalk in her hand. Day dreaming of pleasant school days.

This is an amazing shot. For me, it is something that I would think would never work if spotted ont the street, having that much gray...but you truly have a great eye for composition AND tones.
I'm really amazed that you spotted this scene and made it work so well, very unique.
No improvements...print it, frame it and hang it.

    Cheers.

I really like this picture! The hard stone in the background and the woman standing in front... It's really making the picture seem lonely and speaks to the hard life of the woman. Of course, that's just what it says to me. ;)

What can I say but, great shot. I love the tonal quality and the minimalist feel, with the negative space and excellant contrast of her against the background. It makes me wonder what she's looking at (and thinking about).

    Re: Gray

It's interesting in looking at this. My mind says first "look at all the gray!" and then my eyes go straight to her face, and suddeny "gray" takes on a whole other meaning...

It leaves me with a sad feeling about her, and elderly people in general. I am not generalizing the feeling of "gray" to all elderly folks. But her face is so drawn, she seems to be lost in some part of her life... yet she is dressed so nicely, has a nice bag, and appears to be directed in life. Such a contrast, yet it is all wrapped up in this ubiquitous feeling of "gray."

Compositionally, the pillar on the right really does a wonderful job of anchoring the whole photo. Well done in that department as well. I think my only hint for improvement is to cut the top where the wall sticks out and maybe a little along the bottom as well.

    Well done!
