    Re: Grand View

It bit too much pavement maybe. Also, it always bothers me when the clouds show the slow shutter, or the multiple photos for an hdr (right?) I wonder how it would look if you tone mapped the average exposure.

Love the subject, Liban. I agree about a bit too much pavement, and it looks like the contrast is a bit too high. Love the way the clouds seem to spread out from the top of the Grand View.

liban - Nice in so many ways. I agree that there's to much pavement, but cropping it out doesn't look to be the answer as it throws off the composition. Unfortunately this means it has a harder issue to solve - the house is great, as is the background, but it's just in the wrong place. I would do PP surgery and digitally replace that area with something better. Just seems like a prime candidate.

    Liban,

I would crop up to the edge of the grass which would help a lot.

The left side needs a bit of a boost to balance it all out if you crop it. Its not strong enough as it stands.

Very nice subject. I also agree on the pavement. The clouds are nice, except, I think, for the clouds between the main steeple and the farther (whatever those are called). It looks a little unnatural there. It might be because there is an abrupt cutting off. I assume this is HDR. Nice job processing.

    I like it !

While scrolling I cropped the bottom up to the grass, it makes it look better

I like the feel of moving clouds

    Re: Grand View

I was about to agree with the other guys about the pavement, but cropping up with my monitor does nothing to improve. I like it - especially what is going on at right. Beautiful. HDR?

The only thing I'd say - and this may be because of my own display - is that overall it looks a little dark. But then, I'm hardly Mr. Calibration.

    Re: Grand View

n8, I like cloud movement! gives the photo depth most times. This wasn't a slow shutter shut though, must be the HDR i gave it. thanks

Gary, I thought it wasn't contrasty enough! glad ididn't add more then. thanks.

GB, thanks man. I wish i shot it from different angles. I don't think I have.

    Roger, Thank you.

    Arne, Thank you.

Armando, glad you like moving clouds, me too!

Seth, everything was going one direction till you showed up. lol. but, GB actually agrees with you that cropping isn't the answer. I'm still on the fence. yeah it's HDR. hmm, maybe it's a little dark, but not enough to notice, better get calibrating! oh and thanks!
