the best standing bird shots i've seen have been taken at eye level with the subject. This looks too much like a point and shoot type of photo and is kind of boring to me.

Two things struck me. First, I wonderered what they were looking at...thus, I like your title!

Secondly, I think I might crop out most of the grass. I am very new to photography, but it seems maybe a little over-exposed perhaps??

Thank you so much for your comments. I am never pleased with the way my pictures look on websites --- I don't think I've ever learned the proper technique for transferring them. The "save for web" feature in Photoshop just seems to fade and pixelate everything.

This shot probably is just a boring point and shoot -- I can see that, STILL, I liked trying to capture these two and their judgmental aura.

the colours definitely seem a little dull. probably does have a loot to do with how you saved it though. I never use the save for web it sucks. I just save a full size and then go to image adjust in ps and set the big side to 800 pix, perfect for posting.
