    Smile Good Bye and Hello

This is a Picture of a freind of mine and his daughter. The first picture is they day my husband and my freind deployed to Iraq. The second picture is 15 months later when my freind came home. Both of these pictures were fairly difficult to capture. Children just dont stay still long enough. And it was a emotional time for everyone there.
I hope everyone can apreciate the difficulty that our men and women in the military go threw on a daily basis. My freind left a 5 month old baby girl and came home to a toddler who didnt know who he was and cried every time he tried to get close. GOD BLESS ALL WHO SERVE PAST AND PRESENT!!!

Is the baby in the first picture the same as the one in the second with the Santa Hat? I would clone the spot on the wall in the first, it's distracting and an easy fix.

Yes its the same baby. The reason the backrounds are differnt is that the Welcome Home ceremony was in a differnt building then the Farewell Ceremony. I chose these 2 pictures to emphisize the passage of time and the little things that he missed. All of the men in my husbands direct section came home safe and sound. We pray for all those that did not come home and we rejoice those that did.

That is a great pair of photos as momentos and I am sure the family loves them.

What I try to do in a situation like that is take a print of the first time with me so I can come close to the same pose the second time around.
    No, I DON'T need that.

This is surely a heartwarming scene in comparison. You framed them well and caught some good moments.
I have the utmost respect to all serving in our armed forces and especially to the wives and family that keep it all together for them when they get home. . .and still try when they don't.

    there is nothing to critique.
what you captured will speak volumes to those who see it and for your kids to appreciate for generations.

I know how your husband feels. I missed my son birth when I was in the Marines and was gone for 1 year. The hardest part was my daughter who was 3 at the time did not know how I was . I didnt know how to react, but we are very close now, thats all that matters. Thank him for me, cause guys like him ,we wouldn't be on here showing the pictures
