    Going round the bend

Not sure if either of these work - need your opinion as to whether there is a photo here or not.

    Re: Going round the bend

Of the two, I like the black and white one better. There doesn't seem to be a reason that the color needs to be in color.

I like how the road leads ones eyes up and over. But there is something missing. I'm looking for something in the field. A reason for you to draw my eyes there. A scarecrow (are they even used anymore?), cow, broken down truck, etc.

    Re: Going round the bend

It almost looks like 2 images, the field part and the road part

I too like the b&w better. I don't feel that the road contributes to the image that much. I might play with a crop or possibly recompose the shot if you get the chance to go back. I do like the field very much. I think there's a story in there.

    Re: Going round the bend

Thanks for the feedback chaps. Glad to know I'm not going round the bend because I didn't think either worked.

The reason for taking the photo was all the birds in the field but they were to far away.

Is this any better and does it stand up with a new title of "Breakfast"?

I prefer the b/w as well. I think the composition is strong, but more road in the picture wouldnt hurt.

B&W for me, and I prefer the first. THe birds, to me, still don't have the impace. But that road sure does!!

    Re: Going round the bend

Aaargh! I have been driving down this road for 6 years thinking that there should be a photo here and after stopping to take it and looking at it coldly and objedctively on the PC I thought it was a failure.

Thanks Becky and D; So now I have two set of conflicting views in my head -
    1. is it worth spending time to try again for a better shot? bearing in mind that the lines in the field shown up because of the snow and the birds which made me take the shot this time round
    2. what could a new shot be from this location. Unlikely to have snow now until next year if were lucky.

Guess I'll have to go and try.
