    I like this...alot. Having the pollen (whatever it's called) at the bottom of the picture is a great composition point. The colors are wonderful, though maybe a little more saturation would really make this shot pop.

    I really like how you framed this. but I think that you could have used an aperture of f/8 or so. I'd like to have everything in sharp focus. The petals are too interesting to be soft.

    I like the way you have shot this image, i dont think its too close it has brought attention to the stamen (where the pollen is). But i agree with what Seb has said about the aperature, to make the centre of the picture more sharp. www.k9imageworld.com www.bevbarkerphotos.com

    Jared, Seb, and Bev: thank you all for your comments. I can see your point entirely. After scanning the slide, I was toying with the idea of darkening the flower center to give it a more ominous tone to the image. Having more detail/sharpness to begin with would have given me more options to work with
